MAR 2020Maintenance work completed
Transport for NSW has completed the maintenance project on Old Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge. The work, which was required to ensure the continued safe operation of the bridge, included repairs to steel elements and bridge painting. The site compounds that were required for the maintenance project have also been removed.
More informationThe bridge is open to traffic and pedestrian access to the Great North Walk is unobstructed.
Project information
Old Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge on the Old Pacific Highway is a steel truss bridge built in 1930. The bridge forms part of the Old Pacific Highway between Calga and Kariong in the Gosford LGA. The Old Pacific Highway remains an important corridor for the local community and tourists and is used by more than 500 motorists daily. The bridge also forms part of the Great North Walk which is a popular walking trail connecting Sydney and Newcastle.
The bridge over Mooney Mooney Creek on the Old Pacific Highway also plays a key role in incident management on the M1 Pacific Motorway by providing and alternate route for traffic during incidents.
