On this page you can find all Maritime projects throughout NSW. These projects are related to Maritime property and commercial, environmental and ferry wharf upgrade programs.
Maritime projects are run by a number of branches within the Maritime Division.
Maritime Infrastructure Delivery Office
The Maritime Infrastructure Delivery Office (MIDO) is a joint initiative between Transport for NSW and the Department of Industry (DoI) to improve the coordination and delivery of coastal and boating infrastructure programs and projects across NSW that support recreational boating, fishing, tourism and a range of other commercial activities.
The Boating Now program provides grants to help boating communities throughout NSW and is now managed by MIDO.
The NSW Boating Access Dredging Program allocates funding to councils for local dredging projects to ensure safe navigation of channels and entrances, particularly in regional waterways.
Please refer to the MIDO page for more information.
MIDO is also delivering a number for maritime and coastal infrastructure projects including:
Maritime infrastructure plan
The NSW Maritime Infrastructure Plan sets out a strategic and coordinated approach to prioritising and delivering maritime infrastructure in NSW.
This approach is built on coordination of funding and investment from the state and local governments and the private sector. The aim is to maximise the benefits of investment in maritime infrastructure for recreational and commercial boaters, including the commercial fishing, aquaculture and tourism sectors, and provide certainty to industry. It will see priorities for maritime infrastructure aligned with broader economic, social and environmental outcomes for the state.
