Nowra Bridge

Nowra Bridge project - Princes Highway upgrade

The Nowra Bridge project will provide a new four lane bridge over the Shoalhaven River, upgraded intersections and additional lanes on the Princes Highway.

The $342 million project is jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments.

Major work started in mid 2020 and the project is expected to be complete by mid 2024.

Night work will continue to take place across the project in July from Friday 1 July to Sunday 31 July 2022, between 6pm and 7am, weather permitting.

Just over 12 months since the first segment was poured, the new Nowra Bridge has reached the northern foreshore of the Shoalhaven River, having been pushed 360 metres.

MAY 2022Long weekend site shutdown and night work in June

The site will be shut down for the June long weekend from 6pm Friday 10 June until 7am Tuesday 14 June. Night work will continue to take place across the project in June from Wednesday 1 June to Thursday 30 June between 6pm and 7am, weather permitting.

The new bridge is now more than halfway across the Shoalhaven River, and over the next few months, will continue to be launched until it reaches the northern rockface. Across the project there will be a number of traffic changes to allow us to safely complete work. This includes changes as we continue widening Bomaderry Creek Bridge and the opening of the new local road connecting to the highway.
