The Nowra Bridge project will provide a new four lane bridge over the Shoalhaven River, upgraded intersections and additional lanes on the Princes Highway.
The $342 million project is jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments.
Major work started in mid 2020 and the project is expected to be complete by mid 2024.
APR 2021Night work in May
Night work will continue to take place across the project in May from Sunday 2 May to Monday 31 May, weather permitting. Our night work will occur between 6pm and 7am.

The footpath on the northbound bridge will be closed during some of these night work activities. Signage will be in place advising of detours during these closures.
APR 2021Traffic and pedestrian changes north of Bolong Road
All highway traffic between Mattes Way and Bolong Road will shift west from Thursday 29 April, weather permitting. A new signalised pedestrian crossing of the highway will also be installed as part of this work and there will be new traffic lights for motorists turning left onto Bolong Road from the Princes Highway.More information
The western footpath between Mattes Way and Bolong Road will reopen and sections of the eastern footpath will close as part of this work.

Work has progressed over the last four months with bridge piling on the temporary platform complete. We will soon move into the Shoalhaven River to continue piling and then we will start work on the piers.

The site will be shut down for the Easter long weekend from 6pm Thursday 1 April until 7am Tuesday 6 April.More information
Night work will continue to take place across the project in April from Tuesday 6 April to Friday 30 April, weather permitting. Our night work will occur Sunday to Thursday between 6pm and 7am.

MAR 2021Extension of northbound bridge footpath closure at night
The footpath closure will be extended to Thursday 29 April (weather permitting) to allow for additional utility services to be relocated. Our work hours will be Sunday to Thursday between 6pm and 7am with the footpath reopening during the day when high noise impact piling activities are not being carried out.More information
The stairs and underpass on the southern foreshore will also be closed during some of this work. Path users will be detoured onto the southbound bridge footpath using the Illaroo Road and Bridge Road signalised crossings on the Princes Highway.
