Driver information for the Warringah Road underpass

The NSW Government has upgraded roads around the Northern Beaches Hospital increasing capacity on the road network and improving access through the area. The Warringah Road underpass allows through traffic on Warringah Road to bypass three sets of traffic lights at Forest Way, Hilmer Street and Wakehurst Parkway and will provide customers with a better travel experience.

Project information

Road users on Warringah Road can avoid the Forest Way, Hilmer Street and Wakehurst Parkway intersections by using the underpass.

Drivers should decide early if they are taking the surface lanes or underpass to make ensure they are in the correct lane. Access to the Northern Beaches Hospital is via the surface lanes. Motorists heading to the hospital will be guided by the blue coloured service signs.

The following images show the lane arrangements for the surface lanes and underpass lanes. We have also written a FAQ for each map to help you to learn your way around the new traffic conditions.
