JAN 2022Work to commence

Work to upgrade the intersection of Wentworth Avenue and Baker Street, Pagewood will commence on January 19 2022.

Project information

The Australian Government and NSW Government are jointly funding the Wentworth Avenue and Baker Street traffic improvements. Transport will deliver the improvement works at Wentworth Avenue and Baker Street designed by Bayside Council (see inset below).

The Wentworth Avenue and Baker Street intersection improvements are part of a $240 million investment by the Australian and NSW Governments to fast-track 11 congestion busting projects as part of the plan to stimulate the economy as it recovers from COVID-19.

Transport will continue to work with Bayside Council to deliver this project.

  • New traffic lights at the intersection of Wentworth Avenue and Baker Street
  • An extension of the righthand turn lane on Wentworth Avenue
  • Greater road safety for motorists and pedestrians
  • Better traffic flow
  • Eased congestion

Work is expected to take about 12 months to complete.
