Navigation Restriction - Richmond River, Coraki - Maintenance to Glebe Bridge

Richmond River, Coraki
Monday 21 June 2021 to Friday 27 May 2022

Vessel operators are advised that the Regional Maintenance unit of Transport for NSW will be conducting maintenance works to the Glebe Bridge which spans the Richmond River upstream of the township of Coraki from Monday 21 June 2021 until Friday 27 May 2022.

At times bridge spans will be blocked to navigation. The works area will be marked with day shapes and appropriate lighting. A navigational channel will be in place and indicated by a series of lit lateral marks which at times will be repositioned as the works progress. Commercial barges will be in use transporting personnel and equipment from the adjacent shoreline to the works area. Bridge maintenance works will include scaffolding secured to the undercarriage.

Vessel operators are advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in the vicinity of the works, to minimise wash and to travel at a speed of 4 knots or less when within 100 metres of the works barges and vessels.

Transport for NSW advises:

  1. Persons within the vicinity of the works must comply with any directions given by a Boating Safety Officer or Police Officer in relation to the works or to marine safety. Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A - Maximum Penalty $3,300.00).
  2. Vessels are required to maintain a safe distance and speed from the works and operators are reminded that the production of wash which impacts unreasonably on the works is an offence (Marine Safety Regulation 2016 – clause 11(2)) - Maximum Penalty $5,500.00)
