In January 2011, the Minister for Ports and Waterways announced $4.98 million in State Government grants to support 61 boating infrastructure projects across NSW. These grants included $3.28 million for 56 projects in regional NSW and $1.70 million for 5 Sydney Harbour boat ramp projects.

In January 2011, more than $467,000 in funding was announced for 9 water-based projects in Sydney Harbour under the Sharing Sydney Harbour Access Program.
