Development and activities impacting on rail corridors

Transport works everyday with proponents whose projects may impact on the NSW existing and future rail network.

Transport works everyday with proponents whose projects may impact on the NSW existing and future rail network.

The rail network in NSW is critical to the way we live and work. It is essential for the operation of our economy and it facilitates the links in our communities.  Transport is responsible for delivering safe and efficient rail journeys throughout NSW, and managing the safety or structural integrity of existing or future proposed rail infrastructure facilities in the rail corridor.

Any project that impacts on the existing and future rail network is likely to require input and often statutory approvals from the different rail entities within Transport.  The delegated rail authorities and electrical supply authorities listed further below will also obtain advice and/or involvement from the Rail Infrastructure Manager (RIM) for the relevant rail corridor or rail infrastructure asset.

We encourage early consultation to help streamline your development process. The more information you can provide, the more certainty we can provide. For more information, click on one of the links below.
