Improved safety for bike users and motorists in Kapooka
25 November 2020
The speed limit on Camp Access Road will be reduced to 60 km/h to ensure the safety of motorists and bike riders accessing the new Kapooka to Glenfield Park cycleway.
Transport for NSW A/ South West Director Jonathan Tasker said a Transport for NSW review, supported by Wagga Wagga City Council, assessed a number of factors including crash history and road usage.
"A review of the speed zone on Camp Access Road at Kapooka endorsed extending the existing 60 km/h speed limit further north, for about 450 metres, for the safety of all road users," Mr Tasker said.
"This new speed zone will reduce the likelihood of crashes by providing a safer road environment for motorists and bike riders on the new cycleway, with a minimal increase to journey times."
The new speed limit of 60 km/h on Camp Access Road in Kapooka, will take effect from Thursday 26 November, weather permitting.
Road users are asked to keep an eye out for changed traffic conditions and follow the directions of signs.
