School zone for new Marist Catholic College at South Hurstville
6 January 2020
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions around the new Marist Catholic College at South Hurstville, with a school zone to be in place when the campus opens this month.
Transport for NSW will install the 40km/h school zone to ensure pedestrians can safely move around the school boundaries.
The school zones will include Greenacre Road, Morshead Drive and Mimosa Street, and will operate from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.
The school zones will help provide safe conditions for students, teachers and the community by reducing vehicle speeds during school zone times and improving road safety. The signs will be installed by Tuesday 14 January, weather permitting.
Students will also benefit from a new direct and dedicated school bus service from Lugarno to the new campus when it opens, as announced by Transport for NSW last month.
The service will partially follow the existing route 943 between the intersection of Tate Place and Forest Road at Lugarno and Marist College Penshurst. It will then continue to Marist College South Hurstville via Mortdale Station.
The service will travel past the Marist College Penshurst and Georges River College Oatley campuses meaning those students may also be able to utilise the service.
The new service will be labelled S140 in the morning and S141 in the afternoon. Customers will be able to plan their trip by going online at Transport for NSW
