Proposed Terrigal Drive upgrade community consultation report online
8 DECEMBER 2016
Planning for the proposed future upgrade of Terrigal Drive between Chetwynd Road at Erina and Duffys Road at Terrigal is progressing with the community consultation report now available.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the NSW Government continues planning for the upgrade which aims to improve traffic flow and safety for all road users.
“The future upgrade will see two lanes in each direction built, separated by a raised median strip along with pedestrian and cycle facilities,” the spokesperson said.
“Roads and Maritime invited comments on the proposed upgrade in May and June this year to ensure the community, local residents, property and business owners and all interested stakeholders could help in the development of the proposal.
“Roads and Maritime received 187 submissions comprising letters, emails, phone calls, written submissions as well as 45 face-to-face meetings during consultation.
“The main comments received included concerns about restricted access to residential streets and business precincts from Terrigal Drive, plans for certain intersections and their associated accessibility, environmental and visual impact and the consideration of other road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.”
Roads and Maritime thanks the community and stakeholders for taking the time to provide feedback.
All comments and feedback will be carefully considered in developing the concept design and the environmental impact assessment.
Once the concept design and the environmental impact assessment have been developed the community will be given further opportunity to comment before the design is finalised.
