Finalisation of intersection improvements start at James Ruse Drive

10 NOVEMBER 2016

The final stage of intersection improvements has started at James Ruse Drive and Hassall Street in Parramatta as part of the NSW Government’s $246 million Pinch Point and Clearways Program.

A Roads and Maritime Services Spokesperson said the intersection improvements at James Ruse Drive and Hassall Street were opened to traffic in June, however the resurfacing work required to complete the project was rescheduled to a later date to minimise the impact on road users, given the large volume of road work being delivered in this area.

“James Ruse Drive is a key arterial road in Western Sydney that provides a major crossing over the Parramatta River,” the spokesperson said.

“Work completed so far includes extending the right turn bay from James Ruse Drive into Grand Avenue and installing dedicated left turn lanes into Hassall Street and Grand Avenue to improve traffic flow.

“Work will start soon to resurface the intersection, repair concrete on Hassall Street and complete landscaping.

“This work to finalise the project will be carried out from 7am to 6pm and 8pm to 5am between Monday 7 November and Wednesday 21 December 2016, weather permitting.

“Motorists are advised changed traffic conditions will be in place for the safety of workers and road users including lane closures.”
Road users should keep to the speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs.
