Road improvements completed on Nelson Bay Road at Bobs Farm
28 OCTOBER 2016
Road users will now benefit from an improved road surface on Nelson Bay Road near Bobs Farm with work completed today Friday 28 October.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the NSW Government funded $800,000 to rebuild 460 metres of the northbound lanes of Nelson Bay Road, south of Marsh Road, to improve road safety and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
“This work means the 19,000 motorists who travel along Nelson Bay Road and in the Port Stephens area will experience a stronger, longer lasting and safer road,” the spokesperson said.
“The project also included improving cyclist safety by widening the road shoulders to around two metres which increases the distance between passing motorists.
“Work started early last month and was completed on Friday 28 October.”
Roads and Maritime is committed to improving the road network for all road users in the Port Stephens area and thanks the community for its patience while this essential maintenance work was completed.
