Motorists will soon benefit from improvements on Richardson Road at Campvale with work now underway.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the NSW Government provided $1.1 million to widen the shoulders and rebuild a section of Richardson Road from Grahamstown Road to 1.5 kilometres east.

“Work also includes minor drainage improvements and the installation of roadside safety barriers to prevent motorists veering from the road and to improve road safety,” the spokesperson said.

“Some tree and vegetation removal was carried out before work started to allow for the shoulder widening and to remove any potential roadside hazards.”
Work started last week and is expected to be completed in 12 weeks, weather permitting.

Port Stephens Council is carrying out the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services.
To reduce the impact to motorists, work will be carried out at night between 6pm and 6am with some work, including safety barrier installation, carried out during the day between 7am and 5pm for worker safety.

For the safety of workers and all road users lane closures, a temporary 40 km/h speed limit and traffic control and signs will be in place while work is being carried out.
