Have your say on night work for the Great Western Highway at Faulconbridge

27 SEPTEMBER 2016

Community members are invited to provide feedback on a proposal to carry out night work on the Great Western Highway at Faulconbridge.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the essential maintenance work would be carried out between Railway Avenue and 500 metres west of Bellevue Road to provide a stronger, longer lasting and safer road.

“The Great Western Highway is the main road connecting western Sydney with Lithgow and the state’s west and carries thousands of vehicles including freight vehicles every day,” the spokesperson said.

“Essential maintenance work is required to ensure the road remains safe including resurfacing sections of road.

“To minimise the impact on motorists, work is proposed to be carried out at night for five nights per week for four weeks. Alternatively work could be carried out for two nights per week for 14 weeks.

“For both proposals work hours would be from 8pm to 5am with noisier activities completed before 11pm to minimise the impact on residents and businesses.”

Feedback can be provided to project delivery partner DownerMouchel by Wednesday 12 October to PO Box 6465, North Ryde, NSW, 2113 or nsw_projects@downmouchel.com.
