Roads and Maritime Services advises motorists work will be carried out in coming weeks to install a new closed circuit television (CCTV) camera on Narellan Road at Campbelltown.

A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the camera will be installed at the intersection of Appin Road and Oxley Street as part of the NSW Government’s $300 million Urban Roads Pinch Point program, which aims to reduce traffic delays and manage congestion on Sydney’s major road corridors.

“During August, community feedback was sought on the proposal to install a CCTV camera, which will allow the Transport Management Centre to better monitor and manage traffic conditions.

“After careful consideration the camera will be installed onto an existing traffic light post.

“Work will take two night shifts and two day shifts to complete from 8pm to 5am and 8am to 5pm between Monday 26 September and Monday 17 October, weather permitting.

“For the safety of motorists and workers, changed traffic conditions will be in place during night work, including a temporary lane closure.

“Motorists should follow the directions of traffic controllers and allow extra travel time.”
