Work complete on $1.4 million project to maintain Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge
7 SEPTEMBER 2016
Motorists are now benefiting from improved road safety on the Old Pacific Highway following the installation of traffic barriers and completion of essential maintenance work on Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge across Mooney Mooney Creek.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the Old Pacific Highway remains an important corridor for residents and tourists travelling between Cowan and Mount White.
“The Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge is used by more than 500 motorists daily and remains an important connection for the local community,” the spokesperson said.
“The NSW Government funded a $1.4 million maintenance project to improve safety for road users and reduce the need for future maintenance work.
“Work started in April to install about 250 metres of safety barrier along the full length of the bridge and both approaches. Work also included building new access stairs beside the bridge for users of the Great North Walk as well concrete repairs and other routine bridge maintenance activities.
“This work is now complete and motorists are thanked for their patience while the essential work was carried out.”
