12 July 2016

Motorists can now benefit from improved road safety on the M1 Pacific Motorway with upgrade work completed on four bridges above forestry access roads through the Awaba State Forest.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the NSW Government provided $850,000 for safety improvement work on the two sets of twin bridges which included upgrading safety barriers on the motorway.

“The Archery and Sugarloaf access roads located two kilometres apart below the M1 Pacific Motorway near Wakefield Road and north of the Palmers Road Interchange are important access roads through the State Forest,” the spokesperson said.

“Work started on Wednesday 14 March and will be completed ahead of time and on budget by Roads and Maritime Services late this month.”

Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience while this essential upgrade work was carried out.
