No parking restrictions for Rutledge Street in Eastwood
30 June 2016
‘No Parking’ signs will be installed on the northern side of Rutledge Street between Tarrants Avenue and Shaftsbury Road at Eastwood to help improve traffic flow.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the proposal followed feedback from the community about parked cars blocking through traffic.
“Parked vehicles reduce available lane space to one lane during peak travel times,” the spokesperson said.
This causes vehicles to slow down and merge, which can on occasion lead to queueing back to Brush Road.
“During community consultation submissions were received from 19 people with the majority of comments in favour of the proposal.
“The new signage will be installed in coming weeks between Shaftsbury Avenue and Tarrants Road and will be enforceable once they in place.”
