Travel time info for motorists using the Lane Cove Tunnel, Gore Hill and Warringah Freeways
27 June 2016
Motorists using the Lane Cove Tunnel, Gore Hill and Warringah freeways will be able to view real-time travel time information via electronic message signs from Wednesday 29 June.
Roads and Maritime Services said this corridor is the final section in the Sydney Orbital motorway network to provide traffic information to motorists.
“There’s no doubt time is a precious commodity for many motorists who travel on our roads, and the more information they have the better they can plan their journeys.
“This week four variable message signs will start displaying travel time information for major exits along this route between Lane Cove and City North,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
“This includes York Street exit in City North, Victoria Road exit near Anzac Bridge and William Street exit on Eastern Distributor.
“Information will be displayed between 4am and 10pm, seven days a week, unless required to be overridden by emergency and other high priority messages including incident updates.
“This completes the travel time information rollout on the Sydney Orbital Motorway network, which forms part of the NSW Government’s $14 million traveller information program” the spokesperson said.
“During the past two years, motorists have benefitted from the progressive rollout of travel time information Sydney’s motorway network, with new signs installed and existing signs upgraded to display messages on the M1, M2, M5 and the Eastern Distributor.”
