Have your say on vehicle activated signs for Heathcote Road at Holsworthy
21 JUNE 2016
Community members are invited to provide feedback on a proposal to install two vehicle activated signs on Heathcote Road at Holsworthy to improve safety at a known incident black spot.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the solar powered signs would provide approaching motorists with advanced warning of the curve in the road south of St George Crescent.
“Heathcote Road is a major arterial road connecting Liverpool to the Princes Highway at Heathcote,” the spokesperson said.
“Analysis of crash data has shown during the five years to 31 December 2014 there were five off road crashes, three head on crashes and one rear end crash on this section of road.
“Roads and Maritime Services is proposing to install one sign about 1.3 kilometres south of St George Crescent for northbound motorists and the other sign about 750 metres south of St George Crescent for southbound motorists.
“It is expected these signs will help reduce the number of crashes on this stretch of road and encourage safer driving.
“The signs would be installed in four night shifts during July to minimise the impact on road users.
“Feedback on the sign can be sent by Monday 27 June to delivery partner DownerMouchel at PO Box 6465, North Ryde, NSW, 2113 or enquiries_nsw@downermouchel.com.”
