Have your say on new electronic message signs for Victoria Road

14 JUNE 2016

Community members are invited to provide feedback on a proposal to improve directional signage on Victoria Road southbound at Rozelle approaching the Western Distributor.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the project would benefit more than 33,000 motorists who travel southbound through Rozelle along the major road corridor every day.

“In response to community feedback, Roads and Maritime is proposing additional signage to provide advanced warning of lane configuration changes approaching the Western Distributor to reduce congestion caused by lane changing,” the spokesperson said.

“The proposal would involve the installation of a new electronic directional sign at the intersection of Robert Street and Victoria Road to highlight whether the third lane turns left onto Victoria Road or right onto The Crescent.

“Two static signs on the pedestrian bridge next to Lilyfield Road would be replaced with electronic signs to remind road users of the lane configurations.

“Feedback can be provided by Monday 27 June to Roads and Maritime services PO Box 973 Parramatta NSW 2124 or to Steven.Wang@rms.nsw.gov.au

“All comments will be considered and the community kept informed of the project’s progress.”
