Changes to Richmond Road and Grange Avenue intersection at Marsen Park
2 JUNE 2016
Roads and Maritime Services is advising motorists of new traffic conditions which will be in place at the intersection of Richmond Road and Grange Avenue from Tuesday 14 June as work moves ahead on the Richmond Road upgrade.
“The NSW Government is pushing ahead with work on the $135 million Richmond Road upgrade between Townson Road and Elara Boulevard to increase road capacity and improve safety in Sydney’s north west,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.
“From Tuesday 14 June traffic movements between Richmond Road and Grange Avenue will be permanently restricted to left turn in and out only.
“To progress work on the new Richmond Road and Grange Avenue intersection, the eastern approach to the intersection will be modified.
“Grange Avenue will be temporarily realigned to the north until the new intersection is completed in late August, weather permitting.
“Motorists can make right turn movements to and from Richmond Road at South Street, Vine Street, West/Pius Lane, and Garfield Road West in order to access Grange Avenue.
“Roads and Maritime Services will also be carrying out night work from Thursday 16 June until Sunday 31 July between 6pm and 5am, weather permitting for essential road surfacing work between Townson Road to South Street.
“Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to guide traffic past the work site as well as a reduced speed limit to ensure the safety of motorists and workers.
“Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of work on nearby residents and businesses.
“The NSW Government is delivering this project to improve capacity along this critical north-south corridor as part of a huge program of work to support growth and provide better road connections to and from the region.
“Once completed the upgrade of Richmond Road will provide significant benefits for new communities including Marsden Park and Riverstone in the North West where more than 200,000 people are expected live by 2045.
“The Richmond Road upgrade Stage 2 between Townson Road and north of Garfield Road West is on track to be completed later this year.”
