Have a say on proposed design for future upgrade of Terrigal Drive
12 May 2016
Roads and Maritime Services is inviting the community to have a say on the proposed design for a future upgrade of Terrigal Drive between Chetwynd Road, Erina and Duffy Road at Terrigal.
A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the NSW Government allocated $500,000 this financial year to start planning the upgrade which aims to improve traffic flow and safety for the 25,000 motorists using this section of Terrigal Drive daily.
“Terrigal Drive connects the retail and commercial centres around Erina with tourist and residential centres around the beach suburbs of Terrigal, Wamberal and North Avoca,” the spokesperson said.
“Improving the 3.3 kilometre section of road between Chetwynd Road and Duffys Road would cater for existing and future traffic volumes forecast as a result of residential and commercial growth in this area, reducing traffic congestion and improving travel times.
“This upgrade would complement the $25 million Terrigal Drive upgrade between Charles Kay Drive and Brunswick Road which opened to traffic in January this year.
“The community is invited to view the proposed design at the Erina Fair Shopping Centre Service Desk on Terrigal Drive at Erina from Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm with extended hours on Thursdays between 9am and 9pm, Saturdays between 9am and 5pm and Sundays between 10am and 4pm.
“The design will also be displayed at the reception of Gosford City Council on 49 Mann Street at Gosford from Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5pm.”
More information is available at staffed drop in sessions to be held on Wednesday 25 May between 3pm and 8pm at Meeting Space three of the Erina Centre near the Erina Fair Library – The Hive at the Erina Fair Shopping Centre on Terrigal Drive at Erina.
Have a say on the proposed design before comments close at 5pm on Friday 10 June via email at central.coast.office@rms.nsw.gov.au, in writing to Theodorous Stephanou, Roads and Maritime Services, Locked Bag 2030, Newcastle NSW 2300 or by phoning (02) 4379 7015 during business hours.
