Night work to improve safety at major Lambton intersection

4 May 2016

Roads and Maritime Services will start safety improvement work this Sunday 8 May at the Orlando, Griffiths and Kahibah roads intersection at Lambton.

“The NSW Government is funding $285,000 to renew underground cabling and install traffic light controlled pedestrian crossings on all approaches to the intersection,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.

Work will be carried out at night from Sunday to Thursday between 7pm and 5am and is expected to take six weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Some work will also be carried out during the week between 7am and 5pm.

Motorists will be advised in advance if work is required outside these times.

There will be temporary changes at the intersection to make sure the work zone is safe for workers and road users.

Lane closures, traffic control and a reduced 40km/h speed limit will be in place and motorists are asked to keep to speed limits and follow the direction of signage and traffic controllers.
