A new electronic message sign will be installed on the Princes Highway at Arncliffe to help provide up to date information about traffic conditions, incidents and events.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the sign would be installed opposite Spring Street as part of the NSW Government’s $246 million Pinch Point program, which aims to reduce traffic delays, manage congestion and improve travel times on major road corridors.

“An electronic message sign at this location will provide northbound road users with up to date information to help plan their journeys.

“Work to install the sign will be carried out in three stages during May.

“The first stage which includes excavating and installing foundations will be carried out in six shifts from 9pm to 5am between Monday 2 and Monday 30 May.

“The next stage would involve installing the sign and supplying power and telecommunication services before testing is carried out.

“The Pinch Point program has also delivered significant improvements at key intersections to reduce congestion including new traffic lights and turning bays.

“More than $80 million in pinch point projects have been delivered in the past three years.”
