Have your say on $250,000 proposal to improve pedestrian safety in Mascot
21 MARCH 2016
Community members are invited to provide feedback on a $250,000 proposal to improve pedestrian and road safety at the intersection of Wentworth Avenue and Sutherland Street in Mascot.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the proposal includes building a new pedestrian crossing on Sutherland Street at the traffic lights and installing a new zebra crossing on the slip lane from Wentworth Avenue into Sutherland Street.
“The project would also include widening existing traffic islands and building a new footpath across the western traffic island to improve pedestrian access.
“Four new pedestrian ramps at the intersection would be installed to further improve accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
“It is expected these adjustments would improve connectivity and safety for pedestrians in the residential area, including for pedestrians travelling to L’Estrange Park.”
Feedback is invited until Thursday 24 March to delivery partner LT Joint Venture at info@ltjv.com.au or LT Joint Venture, PO Box 380, Rockdale NSW 2216.
All comments will be considered as planning and design work on the project progresses.
