Roads and Maritime Services will start essential maintenance work this weekend on the Pacific Highway between Kanwal and Wadalba.

A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the NSW Government is providing $1.5 million to resurface three kilometres of the highway in both directions and carry out new line marking to improve road safety.

“To reduce the impact to motorists, this work will be carried out in four stages from Sparks Road to Craigie Avenue, Craigie Avenue to Louisiana Road, Louisiana Road to London Drive and near Johns Road,” the spokesperson said.

“Work also includes installing a pedestrian refuge near the bus stop south of Sparks Road once road resurfacing has been completed.”

This work will be carried out at night between 7pm and 5am Sunday to Thursday and is expected to take six weeks to complete, weather permitting.

A temporary 40 km/h reduced speed limit, lane closures and traffic control will be in place on the highway to ensure the safety of workers and motorists.
