Have a say on proposal for CCTV cameras on Hoxton Park Road at Cartwright
26 FEBRUARY 2016
Community members are invited to provide feedback on a proposal to install a CCTV camera on Hoxton Park Road at Cartwright Avenue in Cartwright.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the proposal would be funded from the NSW Government’s $246 million Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce traffic delays, manage congestions and improve travel times on major roads across Sydney, particularly during weekday peak periods.
“Hoxton Park Road is a major corridor for road users travelling between Hoxton Park and Liverpool to access the M7 Motorway and Hume Highway,” the spokesperson said.
“A CCTV camera would provide real time information to allow better management of congestion.
“The equipment would be installed on an existing traffic light post at the corner of Cartwright Avenue and Hoxton Park Road.
“Many cameras have already been installed across Sydney collecting important data on traffic flow conditions.
“CCTV is just one way the NSW Government is improving the experience for Sydney road users. The Pinch Point Program has also delivered significant improvements at key intersections to reduce congestion.”
Community members are invited to provide feedback about the proposal by Thursday 17 March writing to project delivery partner DownerMouchel PO Box 6465 North Ryde NSW 2113 or emailing enquiries_nsw@downermouchel.com
