Roads and Maritime Services is looking to contact family or friends of three people remembered in roadside tributes along the Princes Highway near Dalmeny, as planning to improve road safety on this section of road continues.

Roadside tributes are placed around the NSW road network to acknowledge and commemorate people who have lost their lives in road incidents.

“Tributes are recognised as an important part of the grieving process and Roads and Maritime supports community members who have experienced loss of a loved one through road trauma,” a Roads and Maritime spokesperson said.

Roads and Maritime has not been able to confirm contact details for relatives or friends of three tributes along the highway.

“All three tributes are located on the Princes Highway north of Mort Avenue at Dalmeny.

“The work being investigated includes widening the road and installing a central barrier to prevent head on crashes.

“Roads and Maritime can store the tributes for the families during work, and replace them at an appropriate location when work is completed.

“Any community assistance on this sensitive issue would be greatly appreciated so the families can be notified before work starts.”

The Roads and Maritime spokesperson said family members are encouraged to contact Project Officer Paul Leaudais on 02 6492 9516 to discuss the relocation of these tributes.
