Investigation work continues on Parramatta Road and Shaftesbury Road
4 January 2016
Roads and Maritime Services is continuing investigation work this month at the intersection of Parramatta and Shaftesbury roads at Burwood.
“This work will inform a potential future project as part of the NSW Government’s $246 million Pinch Point Program, which targets peak hour traffic hot spots on major Sydney roads,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
“Investigations are being carried out on Parramatta Road between Burwood Road and Lucas Road and on Shaftesbury Road between Parramatta Road and Milton Street.
“Work involves excavating small sections of the road, surveying and electronic detection of underground utilities, to inform the design of the proposal.
“Work will be carried out in four weekday night shifts between Wednesday 13 January and Wednesday 27 January, weather permitting.”
To minimise the impact on residents and motorists work will be completed between 8pm and 5am, with noisier work to be carried out before 11pm.
Reduced speed limits and lane closures will be required so motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic controllers and all signs.
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience while this important road investigation work is carried out.
