Wagga Wagga Roads and Maritime Services moving to new premises
15 April 2016
Road and Maritime Services today announced 200 local Wagga Wagga staff are relocating to new premises at 193 Morgan Street in June this year.
South West Regional Manager Lindsay Tanner said the tender for work to fit out two levels of the new building closes this week.
“Once a successful tenderer is selected, work will start on the fit out which will incorporate an activity based style of working,” Mr Tanner said.
“The new office space will see co-workers and management sharing facilities and desk space in a mix of team desks, meeting rooms, stand up meeting tables and work stations, multi-media rooms and brainstorming areas, connected by a fast wireless network.
“The fit out will deliver a modern office environment with the best available technology and flexible work conditions.
“For many years Roads and Maritime employees have been split over two offices in Simmons Street and the Wollundry Chambers. The move to Morgan Street means all our staff can work more efficiently and collaboratively together in the one building.
“The laboratory facility at Simmons Street will be relocated to the depot at Pearson Street.
“This is an exciting time for Roads and Maritime in Wagga Wagga, particularly with the NSW Government’s focus on regional freight, Fixing Country Roads and Bridges for the Bush programs.
“The new office space will help Roads and Maritime to work smarter and harder to continue to deliver the best services to communities in the south west region.”
