Tourle Street Upgrade Submissions Report now online
12 January 2015
RESIDENTS are invited to view a report online responding to community feedback on the proposed Tourle Street Upgrade at Kooragang.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Warren Truss said community feedback would be appreciated to better understand the potential environmental and social impacts of the project.
“Eight submissions were received in response to the recent public display of the plans, outlining areas of community concern about the upgrade,” Mr Truss said.
“The Australian and New South Wales governments have committed $4 million this financial year to progress planning to improve traffic flow and cater for traffic growth and urban development in the area.”
New South Wales Minister for Roads and Freight Duncan Gay said the report related to design refinements, ongoing consultation and construction management.
“The report responds to these issues and highlights additional investigations and mitigation measures will be carried out in the next stage of the project,” Mr Gay said.
“The contractor, GHD, is expected to complete the detailed design for the Tourle Street upgrade mid this year.
“Roads and Maritime Services will continue to work with the community and stakeholders to deliver the project.”
