Conditional registration goes online for farm vehicles
23 December 2019
Farmers now have the ability to renew registration online for agricultural and other eligible vehicles under the Conditional Registration Scheme without leaving the farm gate.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the flexibility to renew conditional regos online would make it easier to re-register more than 70 different vehicle types often used on farms and in other agricultural businesses.
“This is about making it easier to do business in the bush,” Mr Toole said.
“Many of these vehicles only need limited use of the road network so streamlining the renewal process will save time, money and trips into town to the nearest Service NSW Centre.
“We’ll continue to look for ways to ease pressure on farm businesses during the drought.”
Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall said the Conditional Registration Scheme applied to farm vehicles like tractors, harvesters and ATVs.
“We’re committed to supporting farm businesses and know not everyone has the time to head to their nearest town, which could be hundreds of kilometres away to renew their conditional registration,” Mr Marshall said.
The online renewal service is only available for vehicles that require a suitable ‘for safe use’ declaration. Conditional registration renewals also remain available through Service NSW centres.
